Running narrative summary

The time has come to bring Revan's rule as Lord of the Sith to an end. The small Republic fleet has been attacked by the Sith, but they have fallen into the trap set by the Jedi...

Bastila and her group successfully took a ship and infiltrated Revan's ship, but were ambushed by a large group of soldiers, who quickly revealed their location to the rest of the ship. Revan reacted quickly, sending his apprentice Malak to deal with them.

The first wave of Sith reinforcements was no match for the Jedi, but Malak proved to be a much more stubborn opponent, slaying two Jedi in the battle. However, any threat can be dealt with, and Bastila managed to best the Sith Master in combat. Although, before she could continue, Malak escaped on a nearby shuttle and fled for the Sith ship, the Leviathan.

Soon, the Jedi reached the bridge, nearly unopposed, until Revan sent another wave of his best Sith soldiers. The bridge blast door was closed, denying access. The Jedi had to best their opponents in order to face the ultimate[i] opponent - Revan.

Simple metal was not enough to stop seasoned Jedi Knights, and Bastila's forces burst into the bridge. They found Revan, along with a handful of Sith, and the [i]real
battle began.

Meanwhile, on the Leviathan, Malak arrived unharmed and proceeded to order an attack on Revan's flagship, betraying his master and attempting to seize the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith. The attack apparently succeeded, and the former Lord was now dead.

What they didn't realize is that he survived the blast, although was knocked unconscious. Bastila and her remaining team then carried the incapacitated Revan to their shuttle and escaped back to the Republic fleet before the ship was destroyed....

Results

Victory

  • Jedi
  • Malak's forces

Failure

  • Revan's forces

"The shuttle is ready, General Shan," came a voice over the intercom. Bastila nodded, though she wasn't sure to whom, then began barking her orders to the other eager Jedi.

"You know what we have to do. This mission is infiltration, which means we are not to be seen, heard, or even detected. Revan cannot know we're on his ship, or everything we've planned may be jeopardized. Remember, the entire war may hinge on this battle. Now, go!"

They all climbed into the small shuttle before it shot off into the chaotic space outside. The shuttle was small enough to sneak its way past the larger capital ships, though some close calls with fighters made it a tense ride. Despite the battle raging outside, they arrived at the flagship in one piece and made a hasty landing inside a large docking bay. All at once, the Jedi piled out of the ship while Sith soldiers fired at the sudden intrusion.

"There's more than we thought!" one said as they all frantically deflected blaster shots.

"Then we have to make this quick! Before they can get a chance to--" Bastila tried to answer, but she stopped as soon as she saw a number of troops run further into the ship's corridors, obviously intent on bringing reinforcements. "--send for help."

End turn.

The Dark Lord, standing in silence and meditation amidst the calamity of his bridge, opened his eyes to peer beyond his mask. The Jedi had penetrated their defenses - clumsily, he might have added. He turned around just in time to face a young officer, running from the pit of the ship. "Lord Revan," he cried. "Our forces have encountered Jedi intruders - on our ship!"

Revan stared back at the frantic, flailing being from behind his blank visage. "A moment wasted giving me old information is another inch closer to the embrace of space. To your station," he growled before pushing past the boy.

"Lord Malak," he called to retrieve his pet, who also undoubtedly knew that which was transpiring. While he waited for his apprentice, Revan turned to face another one of his servants, his chief of security - he noted in his mind that he would kill the incompetent fool if the Jedi did not get him first...

As Malak came to his side, Revan addressed to both of them. "Lord Malak will take a security detachment to replenish our lost assets in the docking bay." He paused to look at his companion. "Now."

"As you wish," rasped the apprentice.

He motioned several troopers to follow him. They'd make effective cannon fodder and distractions against the Jedi interlopers.

He could also sense an opportunity presenting itself, but he dared not peel back the veneer of hatred and bloodlust to expose the naked ambition beneath. He needed to be removed from Revan.

Malak and his minions proceeded to the hangar deck. "Suppressing fire," he breathed. "Kill them."

End of turn.

Seeing the new threat emerge, Bastila pointed to the group that had just arrived and gave more orders. "Take them out! We need a path to the bridge!"

Immediately, the entire group focused their attention on the soldiers firing in their direction. Many of them fell as bolts deflected back into their bodies, but some remained standing in place as the Jedi rushed their position, although it was obvious that they were afraid.

Except for one. A red lightsaber ignited, and a figure leaped from the back of the group to intercept. It was Revan's apprentice, Darth Malak, come to deal with them personally.

Bastila defended herself from his attack, stumbling back slightly, but the other Jedi jumped in to help as they dealt with the remaining troopers. It didn't take long before he was surrounded.

"Our target is Revan, but this one is just as dangerous! Don't let him escape!" she called to them between blows with her lightsaber.

End of turn.

Malak motioned his Dark Jedi and Force-Sensitive Sith minons to engage the Jedi while the infantry fought off the Republic soldiers. The Sith Lord himself set his eyes on a fiercely-fighting Jedi warrior. She bore the saffron blade of a Sentinel, her gray eyes blazing with determination.

The Force is quite strong with this one, he mused, moving to engage. "You will fall this day, Jedi."

He thrust his lightsaber at her, and their battle began.

Revan returned to look out of the viewport into the fray. Around him, officers hovered about, maintaining the operations of a ship at war. Many of the underlings undoubtedly wondered why he wasn't more concerned with this apparent assassination attempt. Indeed Revan was rather surprised that the Jedi had staged an attack; rather, he was intrigued. Still, he was not unprepared.

If his apprentice failed him, his own lightsaber would not.

End turn.

Malak was a skilled swordsman, but so was Bastila. The two of them continued exchanging blows back and forth for some time as the rest of the Jedi dealt with the surrounding troops. Two others eventually joined the skirmish, and allowed Bastila to finally gain an advantage against the Sith Master, but it wouldn't last.

A blast of energy from an open palm launched her back into a supply crate and he immediately turned his attention to the other Jedi. Bastila jumped to her feet and rushed to help them as fast as her legs would carry her. Despite her efforts, she was too late. Just as she prepared to strike again, she watched as the second Jedi was cut down by his crimson blade.

The loss was regrettable, but she could not deviate her attention from Malak. Once again, the two exchanged blows like some sort of dance, neither being able to gain a step of ground on the other. Every opening was quickly defended before the other could take advantage. Every swing was blocked or deflected without a losing a step.

Suddenly, she realized that there may be a better way to gain a better footing against an opponent such as him. She would need to do more than combat him physically...

"You cannot defeat the strength of a Jedi, Malak. You and your master are merely delaying the inevitable."

End of turn.

"Brave words from a mere apprentice," hissed Malak, driving his blade onto hers. "And the strength of the Jedi is no match for the power of the Sith."

He deflected another attack, then bound her blade over, trying to spin the weapon from her hands. However, the girl would not let go.

End of turn

"Don't be so confident in your abilities! I may be an apprentice--" she paused as she defended from another attack, then continuing as the gold and red light flashed before her, "--but it is my abilities will turn the tide of this war!"

She struck again, with the force of a boma, but he still managed to stop it. Before he could react, she lifted a foot and delivered a solid kick to his stomach, then jumped back a short distance. She could no longer waste time with Malak. She needed to get to Revan before it was too late. Deciding that something needed to be done, her eyes closed as she channeled her power outward, using the Force as she had been trained.

Once she had a clear picture of the battle, she began altering events, as if pulling strings. She could almost touch each and every soldier in the battle, both Republic and Sith, and affect their very mood. It was an awesome ability, but such is the power of Battle Meditation.

Although her eyes remained closed, Bastila knew Malak was moving for another assault on her apparently unprepared body. Just as he raised his weapon, the entire ship violently rattled, sending some crates toppling down nearby.

Just as she had planned, Bastila snapped out of her trance and reached out for one of the crates. With the power of the Force, she grabbed and hurled it through the air in Malak's direction with a fierce speed.

End of turn.

Malak dove aside, toward one of the docked transport shuttles as the crate whistled past his auditory receptor. He looked upon Bastila with a burning bloodlust... but his desire to engage her was waning by the moment.

No... it was time for a grander action than destroying another Padawan. If they wanted Revan, so be it. Malak had been secretly longing for this opportunity... and he would sieze it.

However, he doubted the disturbingly skilled Jedi would just let him leave. He reached out with the Force and sent the very air around her into a fierce, brutal spin. She was trapped in the vortex, spinning around within like a piece of flotsam in a whirlpool.

The last major obstacle removed, Malak bolted for the shuttle. A technician aboard protested, but was silenced by a swing of the Sith's blade, save for the dull thuds of his head and body falling to the deck separately. He took the controls himself, and raced from the hangar.

Revan could handle the Jedi girl... but he would not be able to handle Malak. His mind made up, the Sith set his course for the Leviathan.

End of turn

Once the vortex around her had subsided, she climbed back to her feet and rejoined the other Jedi. Malak's escape was a small victory, though Bastila would rather have seen him brought to justice than simply allowed to flee, but such was not the time for regrets. They still had an objective.

Sith soldiers cluttered every hallway, but were no match for the Jedi. As they cut their way through more and more of them, it became more and more apparent with every passing second that they just may succeed. As long as she remained breathing, Bastila wouldn't allow them to fail.

Just as they reached the corridor leading to the bridge, they were attacked by a number of Sith apprentices. Although they were relatively inexperienced, their sudden ambush proved to be effective against the Jedi, reducing their numbers even further. However, once they had their footing again, the Sith were promptly dealt with, and they could return their attention to the blast door not far from them.

"Hurry! " she coached once more, leading the way down the hallway. "We are nearly there!"

End of turn.

"Lord Revan!" The nervous officer cried. "A shuttle has launched!"

Revan swung from his stoic stance to glare upon the young man. "What?" He growled through his mask, but before the words had been aspirated he answered his own question. Malak... "Gun it down," he said without another moment's hesitation.

"But, my lord, the Republic targets are advancing!" The officer protested.

The Dark Lord turned with a hand on his saber, ready to quiet the annoyance, but he held himself. The little minion was right. Something was amiss. Revan, the greatest tactician alive, was losing. He couldn't afford to chase worthless, petty, ruined men.

He needed time. If they could escape the Republic fleet, retreat just a bit, then perhaps the Jedi could be eradicated, and all of Revan's energies could be focused on the important battles. Yes... that was the answer. "Then make yourself useful and lead our soldiers to finish the job. Terminate the Jedi."

The boy looked back at him, horror stricken across his face. They both knew it was suicide. But they needed time... and Revan made sure all crew aboard his vessel knew that disobedience was worse than death. Two mynocks with one bolt...

"Y-yes, my lord," he said before moving out of the pit. He grabbed his pistol and moved to the aft quarter of the bridge, mustering the guards. The troopers proceeded out of the bridge, the blast door closing quickly behind them. Revan could hear the bolts whizzing and armor clanking amidst the sound of lightsabers whirling.

He turned to look back at the viewport. Any losses suffered today could be replenished, easily.Revan would surely return to his factory.

End turn.

"Stop toying with us, Revan," Bastila muttered toward the door. She knew he couldn't hear her, but her frustration was getting the better of her. Sith troops were coming from everywhere, and they hadn't had a moment to take a breath since landing in the hangar.

Just as they finished clearing out another wave of the faceless troopers, a number of war droids marched their way into sight and opened fire, and then another group from a different corridor. The onslaught of blaster bolts eventually claimed a victim, causing Bastila to wince and lash out at one of the nearest machines.

She opened a palm and reached out toward it, then quickly brought her hand into a fist and watched as the droid's head crumpled inward like a piece of paper. Sparks soared from the unit before it went limp and fell backwards.

After a short time of standing their ground, the droids came within reach, and the Jedi carved them into pieces. Bastila threw her lightsaber at the last one still standing, guiding it toward the machine with a sort of elegance. The blade glided straight through its neck and reduced it to a crumpled mess before returning to her outstretched hand.

"Where does he get all this stuff?" one Jedi asked, but Bastila had no answer. She was as mystified as he was. Revan's entire fleet seemed to appear out of nowhere, including many new designs of ships that had never been seen before. It was a strange occurrence, to say the least.

Her eyes drifted back to the blast door before them. Behind it waited Revan, the Dark Lord of the Sith, and their ultimate target. She could waste no more time in dealing with his minions. She needed to get past this one last obstacle.

With the determination of a krayt dragon, she plunged her golden blade into the center of the door and closed her eyes. Once again, she channeled her power inward, waiting for the door to slide open. She could feel the heat as the metal fell apart right before her. That's when she felt it.

With a disjointed hiss, the door slid aside, revealing the bridge of the ship. A number of Sith officers stood, bewildered at the Jedi now standing within their only remaining safe place. And at the other end of the room, a figure stood with his back turned, staring out at the battle beyond his ship, waiting expectantly for them to act.

End of turn.

The men around him were trembling, reaching for their weapons and preparing to fire. As Revan remained quiet, their nerves were lost, and shots loosed off, directed at the Jedi.

Except for one. She was his. He could feel the power radiating off of her, forming a print in the Force so that he could practically see her standing there, every feature, every emotion. He ignited his saber. A shame that a being so powerful had to die.

He turned and stepped across the bridge amidst the calamity of the minions. She stood there, saber in hand, ready to face him. "Do you think you will make a difference, here?" He taunted. "If I live, I will just return with a thousand more ships. It's inconsequential. If I die, then another will rise in my place. It is the order of things, Jedi. It is... unfortunate that you will not live to appreciate your error."

He gripped his saber tighter, almost to the point of pain. He angled the crimson blade towards the woman's torso, and he struck.

End turn.
