The following list of content (taken from the generous administrators of the RPG Episode VIII: Binds of Tyranny) outlines a great deal of things that will be outright denied if requested. It also lists things that have specific limits within the RPG. Note that not everything on that list is considered unacceptable in this RPG and anything that differs will be dealt with as follows along with things unique to our setting.
Note that this list is far from completed. If there is anything you think should be addressed in this thread, contact administration and we'll do what we can. And don't read this once and ignore it, as we'll be adding more as we think of them and as events come up.
Also note that these things are not in place to restrict you from having fun. They are merely in place to keep others from gaining massive advantages and ultimately taking the fun away from the other players.
Battle Meditation is a relatively common Force Power during this era, however abuse of said power is inevitable. Thus, any Jedi using Battle Meditation in small skirmishes and during specific areas of a battle is acceptable. However, the use of Battle Meditation to influence an entire battlefield is reserved to only specific characters such as Bastila Shan or Nomi Sundrider.
When creating a character, mostly every species is open for you, but there's a couple exceptions that will be turned down without hesitation. So far, these include:
Unknown tridactyl species (Yoda-esque)
At this stage in Star Wars continuity, whoever became Darth Nihilus would have still been a Jedi. Although the name of the person is unknown, his powers would not yet be those seen in The Sith Lords. Since he is quite possibly the most powerful being a player can control in the RPG, administration will be personally handling the matter of who ultimately gets the character. As such, please do not apply for the character.
Designs and Crossovers
Custom designs are acceptable, but ask that you take a great deal to make them as unique as possible. Crossovers ("borrowing" designs from other existing TV shows, movies, literature, etc.) are allowed to a degree. Don't blatently steal things from other sources.
Also keep in mind when submitting designs that this RPG takes place 4,000 years before A New Hope. The technology level is not as advanced, so make sure to keep things that way. Any designs that are considered to be too advanced will be turned down. (This includes starships. Even the largest capital ships during this period were still only slightly bigger than Star Destroyers, and even these were some of the rarest sights of the Galaxy. Your average cruiser was nowhere near this size.)
Planetary Destruction/Searing (Darth Malak-style)
Although the possibility is open for a starfleet to sear the surface of a planet and render it lifeless, such actions should never be taken into a player's own hands. Doing so will be considered godmoding.
If you wish to destroy a planet's surface (trim that ego first), submit your plans to administration and we will decide on your actions. However, don't get your hopes up, as such things will have huge impacts on the rest of the RPG and may break the rules in certain cases.
No. Your character cannot find the Star Forge or Star Maps unless specifically outlined by administration. (But don't get your hopes up. We have plans. )
For those of you that read the rules when this first appeared, you may remember there being a treasure hunting feature in which characters could search for loot in various places. However, we're already trying a few new things, and we don't want to overwhelm everyone (and ourselves) with all sorts of new systems. Hell, we don't even know if it'll work . So, we're putting it on hold until we can get things hammered out, then we'll see what we can do with some new features.
